The Seduction of Pornography

Another article published on Boundless. Guys, this is where we step and take responsibility for our thoughts and pre-occupation with pornography and the explicit. Have a read and pray that God will bless you as you think through the challenges.

Brother, You're Like a Six

This is a swift smack on the back of the head for Christians thinking about dating... or rather not thinking about dating in the proper way! It's a must read even for those who are married 'cos you'll no doubt have friends who aren't.

The Sickness unto Death (Soren Kierkegaard)

One of the most influential, if not also the most challenging theologians and philosophers of the 19th Century, Soren Kierkegaard's writings have confounded and perplexed many. He has challenged the established and the status quo, and only post-humously have his writings been "discovered".

This is NOT light reading, but is rewarding if you are serious about grappling with theology and the reality of life!

Sermon transcripts from Pastor Joseph Prince

If you've been blessed by the teaching of Pastor Prince, head on over to this blog I found. Terence has been faithfully transcribing sermons up until 2005. Have a look. Pray that God'll really bless you as read through them!

Poem on post modernism (~ Author unknown)

We believe in Max Freud and Darwin.

We believe that everythings okay as long as you dont hurt anyone to the best of your definition of hurt and to the best of your knowledge

We believe in sex before, during, and after marriage.

We believe in the therapy of sin.

We believe adultery is fun.

We believe that sodomys okay.

We believe that all taboos are taboo.

We believe that everything is getting better despite evidence to the contrary; the evidence must be investigated and you can prove anything with evidence.

We believe that there is something in horoscopes, UFOs, and bent spoons.

Jesus was a good man just like Buddha, Mohammed and ourselves. He was a good moral teacher although we think his good morals were bad.

We believe that all religions are basically the same; at least the last one we read about was.

They all believe in love and goodness. They only differ on matters of creation, sin, heaven, hell, God and salvation.

We believe that after the death comes the nothing cos when you ask the dead what happens, they say nothing. If death is not the end and the dead have lied then it is compulsory heaven for all, except perhaps Hitler, Stalin and Genghis Khan.

We believe in Masters and Johnson, whats selected is average, whats average is normal, whats normal is good.

We believe that man is essentially good; its only his behaviour that lets him down. This is the fault of society; society is the fault of conditions; conditions are the fault of society.

We believe that each man must find the truth that is right for him. Reality will adapt accordingly. The universe will re-adjust. History will alter.

We believe that there is no absolute truth, except the truth that there is no absolute truth.

Short Skirt / Long Jacket

Okay, so it's my second song posted, but then again songs say something about you when they stick in your head?

"Short Skirt / Long Jacket" - Cake

I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes

I want a girl with the right allocations
Who's fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnng jacket......

I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who used a machette to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass

She is fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnng.... lonnng jacket

I want a girl with a smooth liquidation
I want a girl with good dividends
And at the city bank we will meet accidentally
We'll start to talk when she borrows my pen

She wants a car with a cupholder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket

The Day I Lay My Isaac Down

My friend Melissa sent me these lyrics the other day. Really made me think a bit about Idols vs. Isaacs. Listen to the song here - click here

The Day I Lay My Isaac Down

I have a prayer as pure as gold
That where You lead me I will go
And I'll embrace the holy plea
Each time your Spirit calls to me

And in that hour, and in that time
When I must lose my will in Thine
My true devotion will be found
The day I lay my Isaac down

Each sacrifice You call me to
I'll die to self, I'll live for You
Take up the cross, forsake the crown
The day I lay my Isaac down

Your Lamb of Love, Thy blessed friend
Nailed to the altar for each sin
There in my place Your Son was bound
The day You laid Your Isaac Down

Each sacrifice You call me to
I'll die to self, I'll live for You
Take up the cross, forsake the crown
The day I lay my Isaac down

Take up the cross, forsake the crown
The day I lay my Isaac down
